This week I was feeling brave aka. (my wonderful sister and brother in law planned a phone week and I tagged along)

Tuesday: We went ICEBLOCKING! super fun.. good adrenaline rush, After that we went to the Drive In Theater and watched UP. I had already seen that movie and loved it, it's definitely a movie I will own!!! But I had never been to a Drive In and it is so fun!! Sadly while watching the movie me and Dalyn eat a whole pizza together and half a bag of starbursts.. HA

Wednesday: we went Bridge Jumping. I had only been bridge jumping once before ( the second or third day after I first moved to Rexburg in 2007)

That time I chickened out and didnt jump but THIS TIME WITH A LITTLE HELP OF THE GUYS THERE.. I JUMPED.. TWICE... IT WAS AMAZING... I WANT TO GO AGAIN... I wish someone would have gotten a picture of me jumping but I waited so long everyone was ready to leave by the time I jumped.. Ha that's so me.. so last minute

WE GOT FAMILY PICTURES!!! THANKS TO KATY HERE ARE MY FAVORITES.

OH gosh so much has happened since the last time I made a new post.
The weekend after the Luau me and the Hursts went to Washington for the 4th of july. TONS OF FUN! the trip went by too fast though.. It felt like for the majority of the trip we were on the road either going to Tri Cities, Othello or making the 8 hour trip either there or back. We got into Ritzville at 4 am on Thursday July 2nd That day we went to Tri Cities for a picnic in the park and me and my sisters went to see The Proposal. (very cute movie! I want to live in Sitka Alaska!!)

On Friday we went to Othello and introduced Riley to "the pond" So many good childhood memories there! I wish I got pictures.. oh wait I dont have a camera... That night we had a fish fry at grandpa K's and had a family talent show.

I AM SO PROUD OF MY FAMILY! WE USUALLY DO SOMETHING REALLY BORING LIKE SING A SONG OR SOMEONE PLAYS THE PIANO BUT THIS TIME WE STEPPED IT UP!!

Do you remember Street Fighter?? Well (with the help of the RHS 2009 class" we put on a little Street Fighter skit... If you are having trouble remembering what I am talking about YouTube it and if you do that and you still dont know what I am talking about... we cant be friends. But anyways we used to play StreetFighter ALL THE TIME!!

Ken, Sagat, Ryu, Vega, M. Bison, Guile... my best friends growing up

Thanks to Davis I got awesome pictures on my phone of the firework show in Othello which took place after the Sun Fair.

Happy 6 month birthday Hinder! I can't believe you are already 6 months old. I am sad that I am not able to see Pierce as much, but I am really excited to see him and Hinder together this weekend.

(dont worry he didnt eat any pringles, the little guy just always wants what other people have :)

So five things off my list of things to look forward to have already passed. Thursday I went to the cycling class with Katy but it didnt last long. Last week my bro in law was really sick and my weak immune system let me down again and I was starting to feel sick but I still went to the class. twenty minutes into it I had to quickly excuse myself and run to the restroom... dont worry I will spare you all the details.

On Friday night the Killians/Hursts went to the Rexburg Stake Center and roasted mallows. It had been raining really hard the whole day but it kindly stopped for us to enjoy some good ol' smores.

Saturday was my last day in the dispensary!!!! and it didnt come soon enough. after finishing the laundry, dishes, cleaning every single perm rod, and all the other stuff I finally got out of the school building an hour and a half after it closed. After that me and Destry headed to Idaho Falls and treated ourselves a dinner at Cafe' Rio!! yum yum yum!! After a trip to Winco to get stuff for the BBQ we headed home. That night me, Katlin, Sarah and Brandy went to the movie "My sister's keeper" IT WAS SOOO GOOD!! the whole theater was bawling including myself.

Sunday was Luau day!!! I don't know about everyone else but I had a blast. We ate delicious food, and played hours and hours of volleyball. I CAN FINALLY SAY I WAS ON A WINNING TEAM!!! I didnt contribute to the win but I was still part of the team ;)

Thanks to Katy, pictures will be coming.

And now it is Monday, my day off!! I started my day at PCCI, my second home, well fourth after the Hursts and Brookside. but I still spend alot of hours there. The rest of my day includes being lazy, laying out in my awesome new found back yard, trying the cycling class again, and going to FHE!

I can't wait two more days til we head to RITZVILLE!

Another month down

On June 9th my second quarter at Evans started and when a new quarter begins the seniors graduate and we rotate our stations by grade. Good news.. I am first chair in my class. scary thing is that four of the seven girls in my class already lost their scholarship.

School is going pretty well. I still love it so thats a good sign! This week I am in the dispensary which means its my turn to do laundry, dishes and practically be all the other girls servant ;) I love cleaning but I have noticed that towards the end of the day I get really grouchy, which I think anyone would after constantly picking up after 60 dirty lazy girls. I now understand why my mom would say "the kitchen is closed" after she would finish the dishes and wiping down the counters for the millionth time each day.

I am so... excited! Next wednesday I am riding down with Destry Ri and Hinder to WASHINGTON!! I am ready for a weekend out of Rexburg!

There are so many things to look forward to right now..

1. Cycling Class tomorrow with Katy
2. Bon Fire Friday?
3. Girls Night with Destry Saturday
4. Being done with another week of school
5. BBQ Luau on Sunday
6. MY DAY OFF MONDAY
7. Going to washington wednesday
8. 4th of July and Mom's BDAY

I LOVE IT! :)

Black Tuesday!

May 22nd Update

Many things to say:
1. I am becoming less creative with my post titles... well I wasnt really creative to begin with but now I am just getting lazy
2. I am slowly failing at this blog thing, but hopefully I will have more exciting things to report

Okay so...
I am two days away from finishing my 6th week of school and I have thinned my hair and earlier this week I dyed my hair!! YAHHH I always get in these phases where I think I want highlights in my hair so i get them but then less than a month later I hate them on me. So I finally covered them up with a beautiful color made up of 5NW 6NW and 6RV... for those that don't know what that means a really dark brown with a reddish tint to it. When I first saw it I was really surprised and it has taken awhile to get used to it. I am just waiting for it to fade a little.

...it's sad that the only thing that I have to report is that I dyed my hair..:(

thank you DESTRY

This isnt by far enough recognition to my awesome sister Destry, but it will have to do for now :) She is amazing and let me show you why...

It's HUGE! and for some dumb reason I started doing this trip in an 8X8 book so poor Destry had to do like a million pages!

Now you will just have to ask me if you can look through it, because the pages are a trillion times better than the cover ;)

I love this Kid!

So I was introduced to a digital scrap booking class online by a women I used to babysit for, Thank you Debbie! It not only helps me understand photo shop but I have so much fun making scrap book pages.
I started my first page right after Harly left me.. :( (just to keep my mind off of it) I haven't done my scrap book since my Senior year of high school so I have a lot to do. Destry, thankfully did my New York book and it looks amazing! THANK YOU DESTRY!!!
Here is my first page...

Crazy Weekend

For those of you that really know me, you know that I love dogs.. I mean LOVE dogs, like when those Sarah McLaughlin commercials come on about the poor homeless dogs I have to leave the room.. and I have wanted one for a very long time. So on Saturday I was walking out of school when I get a phone call from one of my good friend, Katlin Fowles, she called to tell me that a guy was selling chihuahua puppies at Wal Mart. I haven't ever been a fan of chihuahuas but I decided to just go and play with them. BIG MISTAKE! As soon as I saw their cute button noses and adorable little paws... I fell in love! So.. after a little convincing I got one!
MEET HARLY!

So we got him and went in Wal Mart and bought him a cute collar and some food and took him home!

It surprises me how small he is! He is very loving, adventurous, scared, protective, and cuddly!
I have had him for four days and last night I really realized that I am not the perfect owner for a chihuahua. Chihuahuas don't like being put down, they are very dependent of their owner. So I called the man that was selling them and asked if there was someone else that was wanting a pup. He said there was and that he would pick up Harly tomorrow (today). I cried like a baby last night and I believe Harly knew what was going to happen.....ha I sound like a crazy woman who will end up living with 100 cats and 0 husbands :) But seriously he looked at me with his big black eyes and whimpered...:( sad sad day...
Since I am D'laney and I cant function with out lists I listed out the pros of me giving Harly back...
1. I get attached too easily to living things and everytime I would leave Harly he would cry and cry and it would break my heart.
2. I couldnt just go to Destry and Rileys by my self and play with Hinder... I had my own little baby in my lap all the time.. I miss Hinder
3. I am gone to school too much and that would require alot of dog sitters
4. Having a lot of dog sitters means that he would be in a lot of different apartments/houses and he would never really get potty trained at my house.
5. I don't have to spend a bunch of money that should be going to other things like rent, tuition and living expenses.
6. I am not the type of person that enjoys sitting on the couch for hours and hours watching TV and that's what I had to do with Harly because he always needed a lap to sleep in

Alright alright so the list was just to make myself feel better and less like a dog abuser. But I got to do what I got to do.

So bye bye Harly it was a fun weekend!

I am typing this post on my new awesome phone! I got a Samsung Eternity and I love it. In fact I chose to play with this phone instead of playing catan with my family. But this phone came with a price. FOR THOSE THAT HAVENT HEARD THE STORY YET:
so I was in the at&t store checking out all the cool phones and after I was in the store for 45 min I picked out a phone and was getting ready to pay for it when I started feeling light headed like I sometimes do when I just get done donating plasma. So I put my hand on the counter to keep my balance and took some deep breaths but the next thing I knew I was thinking "ouch my head hurts, why are all these men talking about calling 911 in my dream" then I opened my eyes and saw two old men hovering over me asking me what my name was and someone was telling me I was going to be okay. Then I heard a man talking on the phone saying a girl fainted, how old is she? I don’t know probably mid twenties. I wanted to tell them my age but I couldn’t! Then I heard someone say that the ambulance got there and I was instantly surrounded by men in blue suits asking me questions. When they asked me what my name was I opened my mouth and it was all tongue! And I could hear myself saying jalaney my name is jalaney! But in my mind I was screaming "no it’s not my name isn’t jalaney!" then they hooked me up to machines and poked my finger to get a blood sample. And then I heard them say we are just going to lift up your sweat shirt and hook you up to an EKG. In my mind I was picturing myself top less in the middle of the ATT store with customers having to step over me to get to the phones. I was mortified! And because I was mortified I started bawling. So here I was, lying on the ATT floor, topless, body shaken, a mouth full of tongue and I had mascara running down my face. Well to shorten up the story, they finally took me back in the back room so I could relax and when I came out all the employees were treating me like I was a fragile china doll, they couldn’t believe that I still wanted to buy my phone. But I wasn’t about to make that trip a total waste. So I bought my phone and the guy that was helping me put in some free phone protective gear! I am going to have to faint in a store more often, if I get more free stuff.Well I survived, escaping with just a bump on the head and an awesome deal for an even awesomer phone!

I Miss My Family!

My genius sister, Devon, is so creative! I love watching all the little movies she plans out in her head and it's so fun being one of her actresses. I don't get to do that very much though, I am usually the camerawoman or I get kicked out of the production because I try to take control.. Let's just say when I do take control my staff quits on me..... So I learned, Devon is more talented and loved :)

You need to watch Davi, the blond one. You can tell she is acting out of love and not talent! haha... But she is talented in a million other things!

It's May!

I finished my third week of school!
Things I know how to do so far:
-perms
-manicures
-scalp treatments
-facials
-a few basic hair cutting techniques
-we did a few formal up dos
-root retouches with tint
-wet sets

I might be forgetting something but thats basically what I spent my time doing.

SAD STORY:
Today, a little girl around the age of 5 came in with her parents for a hair cut. This poor little girl looked like her mother hadn't combed her hair in 3 months! I am not exaggerating! It basically looked like dreadlocks. So Kelby with the help of April Evans started combing out her hair and she instantly started bawling and begging for them to stop. This lasted TWO HOURS!!!! They combed through her hair for TWO HOURS!! and it wasnt even that long! All the hairdressers were fighting back tears while listening to her..."pleeeeeeeeeasssssse...... pleeease stopp...... it hurrrrrrrttssssss" She was such a cute girl too! All the girls were cursing her mother and saying how horrible it was that she didnt take care of her daughter... but I was thinking that the mother probably loved the daughter just as much as my mom loves me and she just doesnt know how to take care of hair, I am getting really excited about the thought that I will be able to teach girls of all ages how to take care of something that most cant live without.

Good News for the day

We got our stations today! It is so exciting!! For those that are not certain they know what I am talking about when I say station I mean... We got assigned a place to cut peoples hair. I am excited to decorate my little area. Tonight my job is to find some decent pictures to put on my mirror... I have a feeling I wont be able to find much.

On our G. Killian website my sister, Destry started a thread describing some things that she really loves right now, This is what I love right now....

1. Coming home for my hour lunch break and seeing that there is mail for me on the stairs.

2. Finding a song that I know the words to that I can play over and over again in the car whenever I drive somewhere and sing at the top of my lungs.

3. This Picture:

Haha sorry Dallas I couldn't resist.

4. Getting introduced to new music by Katlin Fowles

5. Hanging up all the closet that are laying on my floor and seeing that all the colors are organized in my closet

6. Writing a to do list, and crossing things off it

7. Hanging out with Destry and getting to the point where we get silly cause we are laughing so hard.

8. Driving to G's Dairy and seeing about 30 people jogging and getting the guilty feeling but not doing anything about it.

9. Levi Thursdays

10. Reading a chapter in the Book of Mormon and truly getting something out of it!

What do you guys love??

Photoshop

I recently started playing with photoshop a few months ago, I am not really good but I am teaching myself and it is fun to experiment with all the many tools... If you know more than me so hesitate to share.... cough....Katy...... :)

One Week Down

12:03 PM / Posted by kdlaney / comments (1)

I completed my first week of cosmo school! and good news.... I still love it! I have to be honest before I started I feared that I would start school and than realize that I don't like it but I really do love it! It is really nice because me and one of the girls in my class, Melodie get along pretty well so I have someone to there to talk to and relate with.

Everyone is back to Rexburg! I am so happy. I was getting tired of going to school and then just going to my quiet apartment or buging Dest and Ri for entertainment.

Movies I watched this weekend

17 Again: Me, Dest and Katy went out for a girl's night and went to see this. I laughed alot and it was really entertaining. Zac Efron is sexy hott! ;)

Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist: I thought it was pretty good, probably not one that I would watch again but it was just one of those movies and that you can say, "that is real life stuff right now" I laughed throughout it so it was good! Thanks Katlin!

Second day of Christmas

10:23 PM / Posted by kdlaney / comments (1)

Today in school we got our awesome black "smocks" (that's what my mom calls them for preschool I don't know what they are really called) a few clips, parting comb, spray bottle, and a manikin (sp) head aka. Miss Kim.

We learned how to wrap spiral perms. We did two... my first one... hmmmm.....HORRIBLE
then after I received some positive criticism we started our second one and I enjoyed it alot more!

During our one hour lunch break today I spent 45 minutes of it in the bank.... :( It was torture cause I was starving but it was my fault for going during the lunch hour when every one in the whole town goes.

What else can I rant about?? How about how it is Thursday and I still have 16 hours left of school for this week.... CRAZY! Good thing I love it! Good News.... waking up at 6:30 hasn't killed me yet!!
